Jane graduated from Kent Institute of Art and Design (now UCA) in 2005. Particularly interested in the
impact of art on health and wellbeing, Jane has worked on projects locally introducing Art for healthcare
for East Kent Hospitals NHS Trust from the “Paintings in Hospitals" collection and leading on several
collaborative projects to create mosaics to enhance the clinical environment.
The Imprint of Memory
present my work is centred around printmaking which in itself uses the
technique of leaving an impression from another surface to capture
ideas and memories. I am fascinated by the recurring forms of
decoration, colour and pattern across the millennia and the desire to
enhance objects for pleasure and to imprint them with individual
meaning. I currently volunteer for Canterbury Museums working with
groups supporting people who live with dementia and I have focussed
recent work on the impact of memory loss.
